Jacques PeRCONTE
French, b. 1974 in Grenoble, based in Paris.
A major figure in the French digital art and avant-garde film scenes since the late 1990s, Jacques Perconte considers himself a visual artist above all. In many of his works, Perconte manipulates the encoding of the digital video files and transforms filmed landscapes into magical fairy tales, with colours gushing from all sides. He plays with the contrast between the natural world and the extreme technicality of digital images, and references art history when using nature as a subject. Jacques Perconte has collaborated with many renown artists and filmmakers, like Jean-Benoît Dunckel and Leos Carax.
