Après le feu (2010) by Jacques Perconte partipates to the Everyday Abstraction Images at work Abstract Room project.
In his digital films, Jacques Perconte works on the compression and decompression of images, in a pictorial dimension that is reminiscent of Claude Monet’s Impressionism or Gerhard Richter’s palette. In Après le feu , a train ride through the incandescent landscape of Corsica becomes a progression towards abstraction. Pixel by pixel, color transforms Nature “to the rhythm of compression’s spasms“.
